Hello there! I know, I know.....it is not a project! Unfortunately I will not be able to upload photos any time soon! I am having laptop problems! I am hoping it has not crashed! That would be a disaster! Anyway thought I would pop on and let you all know what has been up the last few weeks. I have been moving my room art studio across the hall temporarily. Then I was going through closets and my bedroom.......will show a photo of my magazine hoarding when I am able ......was starting to feel like one of those people on that hoarders show! Lol it feels so much better having my bedroom back! As I get rooms completed I will post photos. Thanks for coming and visiting my little blog. Have a great evening......be back very soon!

One Little Word.......

Hello again! Have you all picked your "one little word" yet? Well.....I truly had to think on this one. I wanted to sit with it awhile. After much thought as to what this year is going to be like the word that kept coming to me was.......Adventure. After all we are new empty nesters.....that is an adventure in itself! But we are planning on remodeling the house......you know.....changing up some rooms and using them slightly differently than when all the kids were home. Then there is my art.....I want to make that an adventure....learn new things and have fun with it! And lastly....my husband, son, and I are going on a missions trip in June to Haiti! Now that is going to be quite an adventure! My son went to Haiti last summer and went to Mexico twice....all with the youth of our church. This will be my hubby and I's first time out of the country! So you see......adventure just had to be my word! Any way.......I am also taking a class with Ali Edwards.....One Little Word.....over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. This will keep my word in front of me and in my thoughts all year! You see......every month Ali has prompts and things to keep focused. So here is my January page......

Well now I cannot wait until the next prompt! That one comes February 1st.....so I do not have long to wait! There is still time to join in.....Just go on over to Big Picture Scrapbooking and sign up! Also I have another challenge for myself this year.....yes I have jumped on the Project Life bandwagon! More information on that later.....must catch up and get some photos printed.....have to send away for that.....waiting on doing a few weeks at a time! Well off to enjoy the rest of the evening! Starbucks Sunday.........thought for the week

Hello there!! It has been very busy here....still trying to get my art room organized....well put back together. I still have my mountain of paper stash to get in there! Lol you never know just how much you actually have until you start going through it! Lol Wow......can anyone say hoarder? Lol well things are going to change here! Putting myself on a scrap fast!! Lol Any way I will post photos of my temporary room....because I will make another move into my actual space later this year! As empty nesters......we are changing things up a bit! Now onto my thought for the week!My scripture comes from 3 John 1:4. "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." I actuallly started thinking about this one while we were away spending time with our son this week. He had a wrestling tournament.....so we were there for the weekend! Always a great time.....just being able to catch up! Any way.....it was just so good to hear Grahm talk about what God is doing in his heart and how he is taking time to spend in the bible. It truly is wonderful and encouraging! Makes me try harder to make myself accountable too! God is good! Well that is it for today.....dinner is here! Be back later in the week with photos of my room! Hello!! So sorry I have not made my Starbucks trip today! Was gone over the weekend and when I got back I have been in an organizing mood! Well I am changing rooms temporarily until we can get the other parts of the house done! We are making some changes since we are for the most part empty nesters! We are going to use some of the rooms a little differently than when we had the kids home. So as you can see.....I NEED to organize! Lol Well just wanted to pop in and let you all know what I have been up to....will post a pick of the finished temporary room sometime this week! Have a great day!

Starbucks Sunday.......thought of the day

Hello there.....Wanted to pop in for a bit and post a little thought for the day.....who knows maybe this will end up being a weekly occurance! We will just have to see. I was at Starbucks getting my usual Peppermint Mocha and all the while praying for family and such and a scripture came to mind that I really wanted to hold onto for today. Maybe it will take me into the week! The scripture comes from Proverbs 13:12"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life."Anyway.......thought I would share what I will be pondering this week and what it means. I am just a simple lady learning more about my relationship with the Lord and where it is leading me. If you want to follow I would love that! In another post this week I will go into further detail about where I am headed with my little blog. In the mean time have a beautiful day!

Hello there! And Merry Christmas to all! I have a post over on The Bug Bytes blog and this is it! I love Christmas time.....such a wonderful time of year. One of my favorite songs is "I wish everyday could be like Christmas"....sung by none other than the King himself!....Elvis Presley! Lol Any way I have that tune stuck in my head. Well I know everyone is busy trying to get everything prepared for the big day......it such a shame it does not last longer. Well I am always in need of that simple little gift to give that does not cost alot. Well I have a very simple "angel" that can be made in no time at all. Oh....sorry no cricut at all.....just used my cuttlebug to cut the tag out. Anyway I found these cute glittery ornaments in the $1 bin......gotta love the dollar bin!

Pretty on there own but I wanted to spruce them up a bit! So with a little ribbon, pearls, and a premade flower.......I made my "angels".

See.....very simple. Tie a bow....glue to the back and to the front add more skinny ribbon, pearls, and flower.....done! Then of course I added a tag with a sweet angel sentiment....then I will probably put "With Love at Christmas, The Smith Family".

And there you have pretty ornament to give to anyone! I made 10! Just like to have something to give that is ready! Well.....that is all for today.....my son comes home from college today. I have some things I want to finish before he gets home! Have a Very Merry Christmas!!! See you in the new year!Amylynne

Hello there! December Daily begins tomorrow! Ok.....to back up.....December Daily is Ali Edwards way of documenting December memories. However I am not very good at posting links so her blog address is www.aliedwards.com.....so sorry. I have tried to get the blinkie for the side bar but that will not work .....lol.....I am soooo not into techy stuff! I am all thumbs! Any way.... go check her site out! Here is my cover and beginning page 1.....yes I did scraplift Ali's page 15.....I loved it soooo much! I will try to post more photos of finished pages as I get them completed....actually all my foundation pages are comlpeted however I did not take photos of them all......sorry. I made my own cover.....with paper and chipboard and 3 inch rings from the needlepoint isle at my hobby store.

Look at how thick!! And there are not photos yet! Lol Now for the cover page......I will have to take better photos when I fill it....it has pockets and a flip top....on the back side it also has a piece that flips up.....thought I needed more room for photos and quotes and songs....you know he fun stuff!

Next up is just my page 1.....

Hopefully you can see I stitched a snowflake design....love the snowflake theme. My paper that I am using is Little Yellow Bicycle.....last years design! I really wanted to use some of my stash up.....I have way too much! Tomorrow is the day!! Well.....I am going to be in and out so much this month....I fear I will be behind before I even start! December Cards Class!!

Oh my......I guess it has been awhile I have visited my poor blog! Lol Been kind of busy! Thought when I became an empty nester I would have more time! I guess I have been a little busy! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Lol Well this is for my ladies in Mt Juliet! Here they are......I know you have seen these in the newsletter but I thought I would share them here plus a few more to get a better look! And you can always click on the photo to make it larger.

As always there will be three cards to complete! Well one is more of a box card.......love these! Here they are.....The first card is the napkin folded card.....

Next up is another folded twisted card....lolI never know what to name some of these!!

Love that angel......simply devine! Now for the inside.....which will fit a gift card if you wish!

Lastly another box card.....or tea light card.....will make a sweet gift.

Now for the inside which will fit some tea light candles....or chocolates!

Fall/ Halloween Blog Hop!!

lots of awesome inspiration to make your season fun! I am super excited to share this project with you. You can say I like different....I like to learn how to really optimize my tools. In the past I have done tutorials on making stamps and stencils with your cricut. Now I am going to take it a step further and cut fabric with my cricut. Just a few pointers....start with a fresh blade and cutting mat.....it will make your life much easier! Lol I also for this project used 100% cotton fabric and wonder under{iron on fabric adhesive}. I put my blade depth on 5, pressure high, and speed low. But test your machine first on scrap fabric......that way you can get an idea how your machine will cut. Also....using simple shapes is best.....not too detailed.I am making some fall pillows for my living room. For this project you will need....Sewing machine and matching threadEnough fabric to cover pillows and various colors for shapesWonder undera few buttonsYo Yo maker{large}2 pre make pillow bases{mine are 18x18}Decide your pillow size and cut front and back.First iron on the paper backed wonder under to the wrong side of your fabric pieces for shapes. When I load my mat fabric facing the mat, I use a brayer and tape the edges with blue painters tape.....so it is good and stable. You are now ready to cut! Choose your shapes......here are mine.....some fall pumpkins and leaves.

Iron your shapes onto the pillow front and you can let that go or you can stitch around the shapes.....

Next make 3 yo yo's and sew to pumpkin as in photo below.

To put the pillow together.....take your front and back and sew right sides facing each other....only 3 sides....that way you can turn it right side out and put pillow inside and then sew the bottom. You can use your machine to close the opening or hand stitch it closed.

There you have it!! Some fun pillows to decorate and brighten any room in your home! Give it a try......you will be amazed at how easy this is and fun! So many possibilities! Enjoy the hop! Love the colors! So bright and fun! Any way I wanted to play along so bad but the only thing I currently own of Papertrey Ink is the twine.....so here is my card......I went with the stripes and colors for my version.

Hello there!! I had a great weekend! Filled with nothing but a little work and relaxation! How about you? Well I had my first card class at The Sassy Scrapper yesterday......thanks for coming Eva! We had a great time playing with paper and catching up! But there is one more class in September and it is Thursday the 29th at 6:00pm. Well here are the cards we will be making......

Advanced Cards- Mount Juliet....

On the road again......remember that old song? Well anyway......here they are Mt. Juliet! The September Advanced Cards! We will be doing 3 cards again........a Box card, a Flower Pot card, and an Explosion card! I know you have seen them in the newsletter that Charon sent out but here they are again......and if you click on the photo it will make it larger for a better look! The Box card.....

Stamps and the Cricut!

Hello there everyone! Last month if you saw my post for my DT spot on The Bug Bytes I did a small tutorial on making stencils with your cricut. Well I am enjoying using my cricut in different ways and thought we would move into making stamps with your cricut! Sound fun? It is! Let's get started.....first you get some of Provocrafts stamp material. You set your cricut on the setting according to the package.....which is blade depth 4.5, speed 3, pressure 4.

Now the really hard part......choosing a design to cut! Lol As you can see by the photo I chose just a few.......

Now you can stamp away and make some projects! I just used a few of what I cut out to make a couple cards.

Love it!! I think I really like the monogram one.....from Tie the Knot cartridge.....yep....I can see making a set of these for a gift! Well any could be a gift! Lol That's it! I hope you enjoyed my brief tutorial on stamping! Have a great day and happy stamping!

Hello again.....are you all having a heat wave? I can only pray that it will cool off eventually! Cannot wait for October weather! Lol I have a few cards that I think got lost along the way and I forgot to post them on here! These are the cards I did for my May Advanced cards class at the Sassy Scrapper. They are all Tim Holtz inspired! So if you are game come take a look at how we got our grunge on! Lol

First card is a wallet card......used some grunge paper, Tim's gears, and a faux leather technique!

Next was a double flap card.....again with the grunge!

As you can see we inked and dry embossed and had fun doing it!!
And lastly a diagonal top card......sometimes I am not sure what to name these cards! Anyway......more inking, industrial grunge technique, and pure fun!

Now how did you like that for grunge? All had an awesome time! Well that is it for today! Must go shopping for clothes for my son who is leaving for college soon! Have a great day......bye for now...

A time to fly.....

Hello there!! Are you having a wonderful summer? Mine is just flying past! In just 3 short weeks my baby will be heading off to college....it all seams so not real! I feel like I will wake up and my 3 kids will be running and jumping on my bed to watch tv just like when they were little! How time flies! Well here I am.....what will my life be like? He will be flying on his own and well I guess that means I get to fly on my own too.....I must say it is hard saying goodbye to motherhood when that is all I ever wanted to be! But that is life.....I did the best job I could. I move on. I get to fly. My most favorite bible verse is Isaiah 40:31...."Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings as eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary." I get to fly with the eagles.....a new journey! I am ready!

Now on to todays post......of cards... Thank you to all the ladies who came and took my class up in Mt. Juliet! You were all wonderful! Can't wait to see you all again! Here were the cards we made.....

Cricut......stencils....paint.....oh my!!

Hello there! It's my turn again to share something on The Bug Bytes blog! I must say.....I have had this on my mind for weeks! And could not wait to do this post! Thanks so much Pam for letting me post on your blog! I have much to share.....hopefully you will find it quite interesting and fun! About 2 months ago I took an art journaling course and loved it! One of the things you can use is stencils.....well I could not afford to buy everything so I had to be creative. I had never cut stencils with the cricut but thought hmmm.....there are so many designs that would make cool stencils! So I got to work and found Provocrafts stencil material and also Plaids. Provocrafts has a repositional sticky on the back which is excellant if you are stenciling on walls and such but is not easy to find without ordering online. I did find Plaids stencil material at Walmart....easy! I like the way they both cut but I must say I am more partial to Plaids. For all my cuts the settings on my machine were the same......Multi cut 3, Pressure high, speed medium to low and I did find that the deep cut blade set at 6 works best for my machine.

Here is a photo of both.

Any way pick your designs{which was quite hard.....too many!} Lol And then cut....here are just a few and notice the positive and the negative images....you will see both used today.

For this project you will also need Molding paste and a spatula.

Lay the stencils onto your project....in my case I have 2 cards and the beginnings of an art Journal page......the paste is like icing.....ice your stencils so the paste is even with the stencil.

Then carefully lift and set aside to dry.......depending on where you live it could take around 30 minutes to an hour.

When dry you can decorate with stamps and paint or glimmer mist.

Oh remember the cut out from the stencils? You can use those as masks! So double the duty! And fun! Here I layed the images down and used glimmer mist and misted! Cool!!

Then I just outlined the images with a black Pitt pen and a sentiment stamp. Done!!

The art journal page isn't quite finished or I would have that too......but I think you are getting the idea! Oh and one more thing.....why stop with paper....here are some other images on canvas fabric.....with some glimmer mist! Wow!

Could you just see these on cards.....scrapbook pages....or art journaling! The possibilities are unlimited!!

Are you all enjoying this heat we are having? I can say I am all snug in my airconditioning!! If I go out I will surely melt! LOL Thought I would start trying to catch up on posting some past things.....lol. I realized I had not posted my daughters wedding invition yet! And that was in March!! Yes I am behind.....so here it is! LOL I used the Cricut to cut out the background blue frames and the flourishes. The stamp is from "Lily of the Valley".....they have some of the sweetest stamps! Enjoy!

And I also have the little cone from the shower favors.....same color combo.

Hello there.....July is really passing us by quickly! Lots of fireworks and family! I thought I would pop on and post my advanced cards class for July.....before the class is over! The class is next Monday night.....still room to sign up!

The first card is a pop up slider card. I designed it in my Gypsy by Provocraft using the Just Because cartridge.

Next is another kind of pop up!

Lastly is a revisit of a card we did last year.....but a fun one!

This is turning out to be a very busy summer! I just realized I did not post my project that I did for The Bug Bytes! Here is my June post....Julys will be around the 21st. Anyway I decided to alter a paper mache purse box and fill it with cards.....something my Mom will love! Now I just have to mail it! Lol The box itself is painted then sprayed with glimmer mist....then I used die cut flowers and punched butterflies to embellish! I designed 3 different cards.....2 each to go inside using the cricut. The paper is a DCWV stack. Have a fun look!

Poem for Mom......

Hello there......Happy Mother's Day! I know it is getting late.....I am sitting here blog surfing and reading some very profound excerpts that have hit my heart and wanting so badly to be able to write my own. I will have an empty nest soon, my youngest graduates in just 2 weeks from high school. So my thoughts are somewhat happy and sad at the same time. Any way I was going through some papers and scrappy stuff and found a poem that my daughter wrote me a few years ago when she was away on missions.....it has meant so very much to me. Reading them again has blessed me even more now...giving me hope for the future. Here are her words.....

Poem for Mom

I was the first one to hear your

I wanted to pop in again to post a card for the Card Patterns challenge 112 sketch. It has been so long since I have been able to play......last weekend I sat and did a bunch of coloring......fun! Since I had some colored images thought I would make some cards! Any way.....here is my card using the sketch.....

I used one of my favorite Greeting Farm stamps.....well its hard to pick a favorite....lol they are all super cute.....especially the Cheeky cherry collection! Loved playing with this sketch! Forgot how much fun it was! Until later! More to come.....bye

Hello.....just popping in to share some recent cards I made using the Greeting Farm Stamps and 1 from Lily of the Valley. The first 3 were Easter cards and the others were just fun to color! Well they are all fun to color! I have been practicing with my Prisma colored pencils. Here they are....

Hello there......just popping in to show you a card I made for the last Farm Fresh Friday challenge over at there new blog www.farmfreshchallengeblog.blogspot.com. I think there stamps are simply adorable! And I love all the Ians because they do not look too childish for my big guy! The challenge was "distressing". I had alot of fun with this one! Pulled out my Tim Holtz inks and paints and embellishments and got to work! Did some die cutting and sewing too! Added a little twine for my ribbon......awesome for boys because its not too feminine....lol.

Here is a close up of the coloring......I used Prisma colored pencils and OMS. I love this technique.....one of my favorites.

"Some day you will thank me for this"! LOL Hello there my sweet friends and followers! This is my post for my DT spot at The Bug Bytes site.....link on sidebar. Thanks so much to Pam for letting play awhile on your blog!
Thought I would set you up with what my post is about today with a "Momism". Have any of your favorite? As many of you may or may not know my "baby" is graduating this May......then come August we will be empty nesters! Oh my!! Don't get me started.....the tears will come! Anyway here is a quote that will be going inside my card......"A Mother holds her children's hearts for a while, their hearts.....forever." Hmmm...yes this card is going to my oldest daughter. Sweet! Well this post is photo heavy......I believe 12 in all.....so sit back and enjoy the ride!
Today I made a "Napkin" fold card. If you have been visiting my blog I have another in a recent post for my Advanced card class that I teach at my LSS. As much as I would love to take credit for coming up with this sweet card I cannot..... I found it on a Norwegion? site......lol I visit so many blogs......but here name is Marrianne. On to the card

I will do my best to explain the directions....here we go!!
Here is a list of some supplies and a photo!

As you can see I used the .....
Martha Stewart score board
Martha Stewart punches
Tattered Angels glimmer mist {dazzling diamonds}
Distress paint {picket fence}
Cardstock
PP from DCWV {Mariposa stack}
distress ink {old paper, not pictured}
Prima flowers
Pearls{Recollections, from Michaels}
Ribbon 1 yard
And of course the Cricut!

Start by taking your 12x12 piece of Cardstock and score at 3" and 9" turn paper 90 degrees and score at 3" and 9" again. Using your bonefolder crease those folds crisp. Next you will want to find the center of your 12x12 paper. When you find it fold all corners into the center and crease crisp! Next taking the Martha Stewart around the page punch.....punch. Making sure to punch the corners first! Then the edge punch. As seen in photo below.....

Pretty cool huh? Now if you are really want a challenge take one of those Martha Stewart cartridges and design your own edge! LOL.....for me I am quite happy with how she designs these punches and have no desire to try and make my own.....lol but you can have fun with that one! Onward we go.....
Next you will cut your design paper into squares, then triangles.
Here is the cuts....

2 = 5.50 squares{then cut into 8 triangles all together}
2 = 3.25 squares{then cut into 8 triangles all together}
1 = 3.75 square{cut into 4 triangles}
1 = 2.75 square{cut into 4 triangles}

Now back to your Cardstock piece.....which is the card base. After cresaing your folds....you will see a point on the side form....fold that one into the card.....oh I hope you can see that from the photo! Very hard to explain this part! Click on the photo and it will enlarge and you should be able to see what I mean. Also fod each corner back onto itself.

Next start layering your triangles as follows in the photos.....oh of course I inked all edges with distress ink before putting it together.

Now you are ready to make the belly band. Cut a 12"x3" piece of cs and fold in half.....so you have a 6"x3" folded piece. Cut another 12"x2.50" piece of cs and fold the same way. Then edge punch both pieces and ink. Layer larger strip the ribbon and then smaller so the ribbon is sandwiched in between and glue together.

Next cut your design out and layer and glue.....

And don't forget to glimmer mist your design and flowers! Add pretty pearls too for add embellishment!

Next tie it around your card for a gorgeous card that you can give Mom or hey make one for any occasion!

Advanced Card Class......April

Hello again! I know I know I didn't forget to post but was just wiped out after working the last 2 days at my other job! But here I am ready to present my cards for the April class......there still is time to sign up.....next class is this Monday at 6:00pm at The Sassy Scrapper on Medical Ctr Parkway. Ready?
The first is a cricut cut {designed in my gypsy} Easter card.

Card #2 is a Thank you card.....using Just Rite Stamps.

Now for the 3rd....my personal favorite! The Napkin Folded card.

Hello there.....
Things have kind of calmed down for me. My daughters wedding is over.......was really beautiful! I have seen some of the photos from the Photographers.....can I just say WOW!! I will post a few when I get them.....so pretty! Next up for me is my sons graduation at the end of May.....although lots of things happening still.....wrestling banquet, Prom, and so on! Lol Lots of photo opportunities.......then you know the drill.....scrapping!!
Well enough of my life and on to my card for today. I used a stamp from The Greeting Farm......there Cheeky collection......just adorable! This was for last weeks spring colors challenge. I did a tag card.....my own version that is....lol. I also hand died the ribbon.....love seam binding! Also used a Die-namics die from My Favorite Things......the rolled flower.....in felt and hand sewed a pearl onto it......very sweet! Enjoy the photos and I will be back tomorrow with my cards for my card class for April! Have a nice night!

Hello there.....yes we in Tennessee are enjoying another snow day! I know growing up in PA.....this is real funny....lol because they would not be getting a snow day for what we have. But I will enjoy it none the less! I wanted to share the cards for my next Advanced Card Class but I am elbow deep in creating invitations for my daughters upcoming wedding....which I will show you when completed. In the coming months you will see some very different cards from me.....I never thought I would consider myself a stamper but alas I have crossed over! Let me see....to name a few companies I am really liking.....The Greeting Farm, Magnolia, Lily of the Valley, Sweet Pea Stamps, My Favorite Things, Papertrey Ink, and Unity. They all have some pretty awesome things! Anyway....on with the post of the day! Here is the first card.....the Pyramid....different huh!

Good Morning.....hope all is well where you are. We had 4 snow days this week! Yahoo!! I just love that white fluffy stuff! So pretty when everything is covered is white! Well thought I would pop in and show you my cards for my Advanced Cards Class for Valentines Day. So here they are.....
The first is a spellbinders heart shaped card.

The second is a candy box card.....so sweet you will want to make a few! But you will have to take the class to get the pattern!

And the last card....simply pretty!

I also wanted to let you know that I will not be crafting as much in the next few months. My sweet daughter is getting married!! I am making the invitations and will pop in and show you! Hello there! What a weekend! Now its the start of a brand new week. I wanted to share my tags I made for a Tim Holtz workshop I did last month. I tried to incorporate lots of technique and different mediums and materials. The first tag uses a letterpress technique for the background and of course I made the little charm house using one of Tim's techniques from I think it was last years tag.

The next tag uses a heat embossed then inked background. I used one of Tim's alterations dies, some primas, a ticket and a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.

The last one uses some paint on a stamp....then inked for a resist technique. Then a rolled flower embossed with UTEE.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what I came up with for my version of a Tim Holtz tags class. Still some things to share this week so I will be back. I am almost finished shopping....how about you? Have a great day!

Hello there.....no I did not forget my blog again. Its just my son is a wrestler and in the past 8 days he has had 5 matches. And if you know anything about wrestling its all about sitting and waiting....waiting....waiting oh ....until the next match. LOL But he has been doing awesome.....we are so proud of him. Any way....back to why you are visiting.....I do have something to share.....a Christmas mini book. The pages are made using 1 12x12 sheet of double sided patterened paper. Pretty cool! The poinsettia on the cover was cut with my cricut and embellished with rock candy distress stickles and kaiser pearls.

Oh....I had someone in one of my comments ask about the directions for one of my cards.....so sorry....will be up in the next day or 2. Hey all have a great Sunday and stay warm!

Hello there! So sorry this little blog of mine has been seriously neglected. Busy busy busy is all I can say! LOL But the wait is over! I have lots to share and will try to post all week. Projects coming today are my November- December Advanced card class that I do at my LSS. Later in the week I will show you the mini tag book I created, the tags....my version of a Tim Holtz class, and some projects I am working on currently which include a December Daily journal, Tim Holtz tags[my version of the ones he is creating currently....check his out if you aren't], and an art journal.....something I have been wanting to do for a long time! Thank you to all my faithful blogging friends for being patient with me. So hopefully I can inspire you with my little projects! Now enough talking....lets get to the cards!
Card #1 Of course I used a Just Rite Stamp, spellbinders die to create the card base, and some copics for coloring and flower soft for some added texture and glitz.

Card # 2 uses more Just Rite Stamps, jewels, a hand made flower{shown in class},and a spellbinders die
. It is a wonderful card to place a gift card inside!

Card #3 Last but certainly not least uses again a Just Rite Stamp for the focal image, Gorgeous ribbon, Martha Stewart corner/boarder punch, and a Spellbinders die. Its a folded card....pretty cool huh!

Here are the others. The first is a turkey card.....yes I did scrap lift off of the Just Rite blog.....I loved it and just knew my ladies would love it!! And they did! The other is a pumpkin shaker....so cute! All with Just Rite stamps....which I love! Also using spellbinders dies.....they compliment the stamps quite well. Enough babble and on to the cards.

Now for the shaker card......filled with some diamond dust and metallic leaves.

Hello there! I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful fall weather we are having. At least in my area it has been just awesome! I love cool crisp mornings and bright cool sunny afternoons.....so pleasant! I have one of the cards I designed for my October class to show you....the others will have to wait until tomorrow. I just happen to be blog hopping and hopped onto the Just Rite blog [which I love] and saw this weeks challenge was for a Fall color themed card. Well since I hadn't posted this yet I thought I would use it for this challenge. LOL So glad I waited! I used the pumpkins stamp from the Autumn Blessings Set. I tend to use alot of Just Rites in my classes......they are just perfect. I made a slider card....my first time. I used just a bit of some Cosmo Cricket patterened paper from the Nutmeg collection. Hello there.......it has been super busy. I have been getting ready for my card class which is tomorrow. I am thrilled to say it is full! And I have a waiting list.....so excited! I will show you those tomorrow but for today I realized I haven't showed you my layout that I designed for the September "Layout of the Month" club at my LSS. I actually got to do one. I was a little apprehensive because it is a challenge coming up with technique ideas but well I will get on with it and just show you what I did! The title is "Apple of my eye"......very fitting for September I think. We did lots of different techniques from inking to even crackle painting! Take a look and let me know what you think. Hello out there! Oh happy day to all you card makers! I will possibly have several posts today. One right now with a few cards I made a few weeks ago and later on to show you the cards for my new card class for October....yipee!! Only 4 spots left if you are in the area! Later on that one....back to now....I bought the I-Rock by Imaginese. Super cool toy! I love adding jewels to my cards....a pretty effect. Here are 2 that I played with the little gadget and used there template that comes with some jewels and some flowers! The first card I used a Unity Stamp Co. stamp. I think they have to be one of my favorite stamps!

The second card uses some rubons for the sentiment.

I found the I-Rock to be quite easy to use.....looking forward to using it more on future projects. Stay tuned for more cards today! Bye for now!

Time.....never enough

Ever feel that way? Time is just passing by so quickly. I have been busy creating my layout for September because its my turn....yeah! I can't wait to show you! But first I must finish up with July and August.....I will be able to post Sept. on Monday. Of course July's is themed for the 4th of July. I really had fun doing that one. I love red, white, and blue. I used Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge for this one. I love the frames....so cool! The paper is by Reminice......it has a opalesence look when you turn it.....very pretty. I also
designed the star border in my Gypsy.....gotta love that machine!

Now on to the August layout. I love the tree branch photo mat! Isn't it cool! Of course it was done on the Silhouette machine. I love the capabilities of this machine. And the details are awesome!

It's September already!! Less than 4 months to Christmas.....time is just racing by! Have you started on Christmas projects? Or do you wait to the last minute? I usually wait till the last minute but this year there are a few things I'd like to make or should I say finish! LOL Well on with todays post.....I want to share my layout of the month layout for my lss.....June. I had some fun with this one! I love the new Cricut lite cartridge "Block Party"....so retro fun! The people remind me of the old Flintstone cartoon....very fun! So on to Queen of the kitchen!

Don't you just love how fun the images are? I did a little welding with the Q and the crown....and I just had to add bling....sweet huh? Tomorrow I will have another to share and some cards.......have a good day!

Hello friends, followers and family! August has just flown by! I have been very busy working at the store.....designing the Layout of the Month, my September cards class and trying to work on personal stuff. But I did not want this month to get away without showing you the cards for this month. We had so many ladies want to take the class we had to have 2.....and that one is fuller than the other one was! It will be this coming Sunday afternoon September 5th.
All cards were made using the Fancy Pants "Road Show" line. Enjoy!!

The first is a tent card.....made to fit in an A2 envelope....

The second....just a regular card.....with some heat embossing and inking.

And lastly my favorite.....one of those tri-fold cards.

Time flies......

.....when you are having fun!! Wow...it has been a whirlwind the last few weeks! As many of you know I work at a scrapbook store and I am also teaching classes. Well along with going out of town and trying to create projects for 2 classes this weekend....it is finished. LOL Well I wanted to share what I did for my class yesterday.....it was a Tim Holtz workshop. The class was awesome....I loved meeting new people and being able to help them make art. I designed a layout, card, and a tag.....all using some of the new Tim Holtz sizzix dies and some of his techniques. I do believe the ladies all had a wonderful time and went away happy with there projects. The first up is the layout.....the techniques were distress inking, alcohol inking, and a fabulous dabber resist {right out of Tims new book "A Compendium of Curiosities"}. I hope you can see the resist on the outer edge.

Next is the card where we did some dry embossing with one of Tim's new Texture fades. If you don't own any you should.....they are awesome! The impression is so deep....beautiful! Then we used some distress crackle paint and some distress stickles for some gorgeous die cuts from more of Tim's new sizzix dies. Check it out!

Last up is the acrylic tag. We used an acrylic tag cut out on the big die cut machine at the store.....can't think of the name....lol....my brain is going at warp speed! Any way we dry embossed it with one of the texture fades....so cool....then did some alcohol inking with gold mixative and snow cap dabber paint for a simply beautiful effect. Then more distress stickles to finish the key hole.

LOL I know May was here and gone but I am trying to get caught up in sharing my Layout of the Month layouts I have done for my lss. My version of the May layout was done using the Basic Grey line Kioshi......very pretty soft colors. I just love the pruples in this line. Thats all for today....be back soon.

Good Morning to all!! I am super thrilled to be a guest here again on The Bug Bytes! Pam thank you so much for this opportunity! Now on with the project. The cartridge of the month is Sentimentals......truly a lovely cartridge. I chose to do a card. I tried so hard to take photos of my Gypsy but she is not very photogenic....lol. However I do have lots of other photos. This is my project pieces all cut and ready to go.
The card base was cut by welding 2 of the stamp images together. For my first layer I just cut another stamp image. Next I welded the little bird to the title in the regular and the shadow.....cut another bird in another color and layered my pieces. The flower was cut in 3 different sizes from Sweet Treats cartridge. I cut them out of vellum....then sprayed with glimmer mist for some shine. Layered my flowers...put a jewel brad in the center and scrunched the flower till I liked it.

After all pieces were cut and glued..... I just put it all together.

Hello there....thought I would pop in and just say hello. The last 2 days have been very long days. Yes I have been working at my lss " The Sassy Scrapper". Wonderful store! But my feet are killing me!! These 8 hour days will take a little getting used to. I am really liking this though. Anyway.....I will have something to share in the next day or so. I wanted to post a mini album I made for the store that we have turned into a kit that can be purchased.....details and photos coming. Also did a layout with the same line of paper. Hello there ......its just me. Hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July! We were very quiet here! I guess thats what happens when your children get older and no grandchildren here to get excited over fireworks....lol. Well I am still trying to get these "Layout of the Month" layouts shown. This next one is the one I did for April. The papers I used were from BoBunny. I also handmade the flowers....pretty cool!

I did the designing of this one on my Gypsy.....made it so easy. The "Mary Mary" and theimage came from the new Nursery Rhymes cartridge. The other letters were welded together from same cartridge. Over the next few weeks I will be putting in quite a few hours at my job{I work at my lss}.....so if my posts are few this is why....no time to create! But where there is a will there is a way! Double card challenge....

Hello there....hopping on for a quick minute to post this card. I made it for 2 challenges....Card Positioning Systems{sketch 173} and Cricut Cardz Challenge{4th of July card}. I used A Childs Year and Independence cartridges. I welded the flags to a rectangle and did some inking.

Hello again.....my 2nd post of the day! Thought I would take a break from the 8x8 baby album I am making and make a card. I happen to be hopping around and decided to use Card Patterns sketch 70 as my inspiration. I brought my newest Unity Stamp Co Kit of the month with me and loved these cute littl owls. I used distress ink to color and stickles to add shine. Patterned paper is from DCWV.

Well I am off to create something else!! Bye for now....

You remember those famous words spoken by all children when you embark on a trip. LOL Mine are old enough now to know......and yet they still say it! The photos that will go on this layout will be the ones from our trip to the college that we were visiting for my son. He wants to be a Physicians Assistant.....we are very proud! Anyway this was the March layout for my lss's "Layout of the Month". I used the Going Places cricut cartridge and Mini Monograms(the scallop circles). I really love the bright colors....a fun layout!

As you know if you have been keeping up with my blog.....I am in Bloomington, Indiana. I am truly enjoying this creative time. I have brought several projects to work on. Unfortunately I am not working as quickly as I would like! Well it is all a process. I am working on a baby album for a shower in a few weeks. The great thing is next time I want to create one in this size.....the design process is done all I will have to do is pick colors and get going! Well today I wanted to show you a very simple tag that I created in my Gypsy to go on the gift. I did some welding to get it to look how I wanted and used distress stickles in Rock Candy to give it a little shine....it is for a boy after all....not too much shine.

Well on to the next project.....dinner! LOL

Another "layout of the month"

Hello again! This will be a short post today. I think I am gonna take a trip to an Archivers store. It is about an hour from here but I really wanted to see what makes them so special.

This layout is for the February "Layout of the Month" at my local scrapbook store...The Sassy Scrapper. If you are ever in Murfreesboro, TN it is The scrapbooking store to see! The employees are fabulous!! {wink wink I work there} LOL. The papers are from a fabulous company.....Pink Paislee....awesome papers and there embellishments are sweet too! I cut the "Love", key, and lock from the "Sweethearts" cricut cartridge......love this cartridge!

The other litte die cuts are from Making Memories. I also embossed the lock with the textiles cuttlebug folder. Then did a little inking. The background was created by using a heart doily and some glimmer mist.....Love this stuff! Thats all for today! See ya tomorrow for another episode!

Hello there.... I am here in Bloomington with my son.....he is taking his EMT certification course. We are quite proud of him....he's doing so well. Today looks very promising ...the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. And so has my Cricut[chirping that is]. I am working on a gift album for a baby shower in a few weeks. Fortunately I am saving my designs on my Gypsy so I can redo it more easily or addapt it to boy or girl. At the beginning of the year my LSS does a "layout of the month". I think truly it is for everyone but an excellant way for beginners to start. They really try to incorporate a new technique on each layout. So the next few days I will be showing you my layouts for the year so far. Today I am starting off with January. Now mind you this is my interpretation so I have added more things to each layout. But this has been fun for me. On to January..... I did some welding in my Gypsy[Provo Craft]. I welded the bird and the cup to the title. I love this feature in the gypsy.....gives it a nice effect. I do not know the paper manufacturers......as lots of times the paper is slightly older.....but still pretty all the same. I also did some inking with distress inks.

Hello!! Its hot hot hot here! Oh how I wish for a break in the heat! Believe me I am not one who complains about the cold in winter....I welcome it! Any way...on to todays post. Another card I did awhile ago. I used Just Rite Stamps and some Cricut cuts [the background frames]. I also used some Tattered angels chipboard and glimmer mist. I also hand died some seam binding for the ribbon with glimmer mist. Of course Prima flowers.....I just can't resist them!

Well I have a busy day ahead of me so have a great day!

The cartridge is A Walk in My Garden....the papers are Bo Bunny and Cordinations cardstock. Hello....thought I would post another card while I am waiting for "Hello Thursday" to begin over on the cricut message board. This is the day we find out all the new and exciting cartridges they will be coming out with this month. And hopefully an update for the Gypsy. I made this card using Straight from the Nest cricut cartridge. A must have....super sweet images for both scrapbookers and cardmakers! I used the border feature and did some layering. Added some stitching for texture, thread for ribbon, and the cute sentiment {from clear dollar stamps}. The paper is DCWV.

Hello there. Hope all is well with you. I am still in the process of posting cards I made some time ago. This card was made using the Bo Bunny limited collection "Jazmyne". The colors are very pretty purples, greens, and pinks....a lovely color combo. I also used the Sentimentals cricut cartridge to do my background and looking glass cuts. The sentiment .....which I love is from Just Rite Stampers.

Today is the party for my grandson and nieces 1st birthday! Wow!! What a milestone! I am so proud of my daughter......she is such a loving mama! Unfortunately I am not able to attend......too far away! But I am there in spirit. This post is dedicated to them. I have 2 layouts to share today....one of Paxton{my grandson} and Annabelle{my niece}. I love how they both came together....adorable!! The first is Sweet as Candy.....boy is he ever!! I used some new Jenni Bowlin goodies I got at my LSS.....love them! I also used some Cricut to cut the Sweet, the candy and the yellow circle border thing behind the photo{sorry don't know the proper word}lol.

This next one is Annabelles first Easter.....precious....love her bow! The collection of papers is the new Kioshi from Basic Grey. Flowers and bling....Prima. For the ribbon I hand died seam binding using Glimmer Mist and there new Chalk.

Good afternoon! I hope you are all soaking up this wonderful sun! At least it is sunny in my neck of the woods! Absolutely beautiful!! Well I have been busy with my gypsy playing and designing since the new update. If you have a cricut and a gypsy make sure you update.....it is awesome! My card today is one I designed using Create a Critter....this cartridge is soooo very sweet! The stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels.

Just wanted to pop in and show you another card I have made in the past couple weeks. I used the My Minds Eye paper stack...Home collection. These papers are super pretty and glittery! I designed the card on my Gypsy by Provo Craft. The cartridge I used was Straight From the Nest. I love that little machine....has made my life even better! Flowers and pearls are Prima. I also used my cuttlebug for the background.....embossing folder is the plaid folder.

Hello.... Good Evening! Wow! My second post today! I can hardly believe it! Well its gonna be quick. I made this card fot the Just Rite Stampers blog contest this week. I really wanted to play along....I love there stamps. They are so easy to work with and I love the way they look. You can check out the site at www.justritestampers.com. I used Martha Stewart paper and ribbon....along with some spellbinders dies. I also distress inked all edges with antique linen distress ink.

Hello there.....good morning. I finally went through and cropped my photos of the cards I have made over the last couple weeks. I will be posting them all week. The first is a beautiful butterfly......it was cut using the Tinkerbell cricut cartridge. I think I really got this cartridge because of this butterfly! The stamp is a Unity Stamp......you will find there link in my sidebar. I love there stamps ....the quote is so pretty. I love the red rubber! Check them out if you haven't already. I used the DCWV linen stack.....love those colors!

Well hello!! I know its been a few days longer than I wanted between posts. This really was not my intention. My hubby and I went out of town and before I left took lots of photos of recent projects. I was hoping to be able to post everyday while I was gone.....but sadly was not able to have internet.....soooo I was very sad! But I did get to finish a book I have been reading and got to relax by the pool. Lots of fun! Now I have soooo much to show you....I will be breaking it up over the next week. LOL I will have posts for awhile! To start off I will show you a Mothers Day project I did. I actually created it for the Boxed-in gypsy challenge on the message board. I used Tags Bags Boxes and More{love this cartridge} and the new limited edition Mothers Day cartridge. I welded the "Happy Mothers Day" on the crayon box and then alcohol inked some transperency to put behind it.....love the effect. The inside was done by welding 5 tags together....easy!

The Bug Bytes!!

Hi there! Sorry this is later than you are all used to. My hubby and I are going out of town and I am trying to get my kiddos organized.....you all know how that is...lol!

I am super excited to be apart of such an awesome group of ladies! Thanks Pam for letting me join in! Enough rambling and on to the design. I decided to make a card for my project. With all the different types of cards.....side step.....tri-fold......etc. I designed a gate fold card using Accent Essentials for the base....also used Home Decor and Mini Monograms.

Here is the inside of the card, isn't it beautiful?

Once all my pieces were cut I inked all pieces using distress ink....love it.....it gives such depth.

Then of course I had to do some stitching.......I just punched my holes and used the heavy machine thread. Next....put it all together!

I tried to take some photos of my layout on the gypsy.....they aren't as clear as I would have liked but I think you can get a pretty good idea how I set up my pages.

I do not have exact measurements for the pieces because on some of the images I tugged and stretched to get them the way I wanted. The finished size of this card is 4.25x4.50 inches. I have never shared a file but I will work on it this weekend while I am away so you all can download. I will post that on my blog over at AmysScrappySpace.

I sure hope you like my project! It was fun and I want to thank Pam again for letting me be a part of her team.

Happy Mother's Day to all my family, friends, and followers! I hope you all had a wonderful day. After the storms last week in my area.....it was so nice to just have some sunshine! A bit chilly but beautiful all the same.
I wanted you all to know that I have indeed finished reorganizing my scrap room! Yahoo!! Now I can scrap....lol....actually I keep walking in and looking....I am afraid to mess it up! Feel that way when you clean and organize? On a more fun note......I will be posting some projects this week. Also....it is my turn to design on The Bug Bytes....will post the link in my sidebar. Oh happy day! I hope you are all scrapping your little fingers to the bone! Well I am still in the process of changing my scrap room.....moving furnature around.....organizing.......purging {hopefully} lol. I can now see my floor! Yahoo....making much progress....but still much to do. I will try and post some new projects that I just completed on Monday........its waaaaay to overcast and stormy to take photos.....will have to wait......we have had tornado warnings all day. I have been a bad blogger! So sorry not too many posts! Things have just been busy! But I will get back to posting regularly. I hope you all have had some nice weather come your way.....the sun has been shining the last few days....so my hubby has been busy planting! Not me though! Oh what a beautiful day we have had!! We could not ask for better weather for Easter. The sun is shining.....people are mowing there lawns and planting new flowers. I love the smells of spring.....mmmmmm sweet! I have 1 card to show you....

Hello....I know it has been a long time since my last post. I just needed a break and I have been too busy to even scrap. We are cleaning and organizing and then we went away for a quick trip for my birthday. So much fun! When I get the layout completed I will let ya know what we did! Any way I do have a card to share with you all. I have been lurking and posting some on the cricut gypsy forum and thy are having a challenge of sorts. Well the deadline is tonight. The one thing you needed to include was circles. I decided to design something in my Gypsy. The cartridges I used were Songbird, Gypsy Wanderings, George, and Lyrical Letters. This is only my second real design project......let me know what you think. Oh I almost forgot...this card also meets the current Cricut Cardz Challenge going on right now. Have a great evening!

Hello....hello....wow what a busy weekend! Yahoo.....my son is going to states for wrestling!! Oh that is this weekend....so another busy week ahead. I wanted to show you real quick the card I made my husband for Valentines day. Actually I will be showing a few more things for Valentines Day this week.....as I had no time to post over the weekend. The card I made for my husband I am also entering in the challenge over at Cricut Cards Challenge blog.....you were to use any card feature on any cartridge. I decided to use the heart on the Wild Card cart.....one of my favorite cartridges. I also used the Lovestruck cart. for the cupid. I also cut the matching envelope with liner. Hope you like it! Godd afternoon!! How is the weather in your neck of the woods? It is snowwing off and on here..... then of course some rain....so kind of a dark day. Remember that old song? I thing the Beetles sang it.....love some of there songs. What kind of music do you like? I have sooo many favorites. But Elvis remains my most favorite.....noone can sing like him! Well I was blog hopping.....and came across a fun challenge at Cuttlebug Challenge blog {you can find the link on side}. The challenge was to make a vintage valentine...this is what I came up with. The card base is coordinations cardstock and corner punched with a Martha Stewart punch....seriously does she not heve the best punches? The Scalloped white part and the red heart were cut usnig the cricut cartridge.....A Childs Year. I love this cart....so many awesome images! The vintage image was downloaded free off the web. It reads "Valentine Greetings"......and also in the corner it also says "ain't it nice to have a sweetheart?"....its hard to see that. I think I must have taken about 10 photos and still could not get it the way I wanted! Sorry. Well I am not feeling well so I am off to relax. Have a great weekend! We are still enjoying the snow! We don't get very much usually so this is wonderful!

Hello there my friends, followers, and family! Yes we have a winter wonderland! And it keeps coming!! I know.... I know....it has been ages since I have updated my blog! Well I have been very busy.....with taking down Christmas decorations....I know we are late but they are all away! Then cleaning the house....and my sons wrestling. But I am back....Monday I will post my January DT creations for Scrapbook Obsessions. Today however I do have something to show you. I am in a card swap at my lss and this is the card I made. The patterened paper is GCD studios. I designed the heart in the gypsy by Provo Craft. And the card, envelope, and liner were cut with the cricut also. Well I am off to order Pizza....my family thinks I am trying to starve them! Little do they know that was the plan.....lol.....more scrappy time for me! LOL Have a great weekend! Hello there....and Happy New Year!! I must tell you it has been hard getting back in the swing of things. I left my scrap space in a mess when we went out of town....and when I came back to scrap.....well I started organizing and couldn't stop! LOL Any way now that I am done I can concentrate on some projects. I just finished up my layouts and cards for my DT spot on Scrapbook Obsessions.....I will post them in the next week or so. But I will show you 1 card I made. I actually designed the frame a few weeks ago and thought it would make a lovely "Thank you" card for the Cricut Cards Challenge blog (link in side bar). I welded the flowers and hummingbird to a frame and left it sentiment free so I could insert any sentiment. I used the Pagoda cartridge.
